'New World 2' Carl Beam original on paper

Here's a terrific composition containing a strong, political message about warfare by Ojobwa artist Carl Beam. Beam, who employs a combination of photography, paint & other techniques, is currently enjoying a solo show at our National Gallery. The heavily textured paper is box-framed to archival standards with UV filtered glass & all rag interior.

'Coal Island #4' oil by Patrick McCarthy – 1982

McCarhy always paints with the best quality of materials & it's evident here in the rich, saturated colours & well developed surfaces of this substantial canvas. The geometrically stylized treatment of the sea & sky creates a dynamic image that enlivens spare, modern interiors. Patrick lived & worked in Ottawa when this was painted but he has since returned to his native Ireland.

Rosewood tall mirror w/shelf

This solid Brazilian rosewood mirror has a simple form with perfect proportions. The mirror is thick enough to deliver a distortion-free reflection & the shelf is strong enough to support a large vase of flowers. Marked 'Made in Sweden'.

50's brass 'Sputnick' variant fixture

I'm not sure if this is Italian or American but it's a high quality fixture with a super fun design. The standard, chandelier sockets will naturally take a variety of bulbs, allowing the look to be altered to your own taste. It comes complete with 4' of original chain. The wiring is functioning but it is always prudent to have vintage electronics checked by a licensed electrician.

4 - 1950's Diner Style bar stools

Perfect for your loft or open concept kitchen, these comfortable revolving stools have that POP look I love. There are some small corrosion issues on the chrome bases, but the original white vinyl is in terrific shape. Stable enough for a commercial application, perhaps your restaurant or bar will benefit from a nostalgia boost!

Sliding shelf teak serving cart

A simple design that offers tremendous flexibility of application, becoming a great display surface, a smooth rolling server or yielding its' shelves to use as trays. The finish is original and in very good shape. I'm assuming a Danish origin based on construction.

Danish oak serving cart

The quality & simplicity of this piece suggest the work of Borge Mogensen & Hans Wegner. Extremely solid & well proportioned, it will serve a wide variety of functions for you. It glides smoothly & easily without a sound.

50's California catch-all

This piece has a quintessentially 50's look & would be at home not only in your sun-room or on your deck, but also in the family or media room to hold remotes, magazines & the other detritus of modern life. The fiberglass reinforced burlap surface can be oriented as you desire. This is a great way to bring some POP to your space!

Mathsson - Hein tension-leg table

One of my all-time favourite table designs in pristine white & brushed steel. It's a little lower than standard, but because of the no apron design virtually any chair will clear the 26 1/2" available below the table. Not only did Hein create the mathematical equation to define the super-ellipse shape, he also contributed to the marvellous, economy of the tension-leg design which allows instant no tools removal of the legs.
